Behind Les Petites Bleues is Camille,
I arrived in Normandy on a sweet Sunday in October in the 90s.
It all started in my dad's darkroom, as a child, watching his silver prints appear under the red light. This fascination never truly left me; it led me to study photography, and very quickly to alternative processes: techniques that slow things down, that surprise, and that leave a touch of magic in the results.
It was no coincidence, then, that I encountered cyanotype in 2019, during a workshop with a visual artist in the heart of Paris. The discovery of this ancient process felt like an obvious path.
Very quickly, this technique became part of my daily life. For several years, it was primarily a hobby, but a hobby that truly mattered, that gave me breathing room in moments when I needed it.
Today, Les Petites Bleues is still the same: a timeless bubble where I let light and living things converse. I blend elements gathered on walks or from my mother's beautiful garden (grasses, leaves, flowers, wild herbs...) and my own photographs to create images that possess both the rigor of a photographic process, the gentleness of the natural world, and the untamed light.
But Les Petites Bleues is also a workshop, a shop, a playground. It's where photography reacquaints itself with slowness, with hands, with material, and with spirit.
There's something precious about slowing down, observing, and letting the light do its work. If you'd like to experience this too, in a workshop, or simply by bringing a print into your home, you are most welcome.
